Pier Giorgio Frassati was a young man who believed in living life fully, to give glory
to God and in service of others. He was an athletic young man, who loved mountain
climbing, among many other sports. He wrote ‘Verso l’Alto’, which means ‘to the
heights’ on a photograph of himself on what was to be his last climb. This phrase
not only exemplified his approach to living life, it also captured Pier Giorgio’s quest
to always search for the higher purpose; to seek the greater good. Pier Giorgio
was deeply devoted to the Eucharist, attending daily Mass and spending hours
in Eucharistic Adoration.
